An essential part of being an adult is getting a Will done. But what is a will? In short, it is a document that outlines where you want all your worldly possessions to go (in the event of your death); and, if necessary, making provisions for people that are currently dependant on you.
As part of your estate planning considerations, you may also consider obtaining Powers of Attorney (appointing another person to make decisions for you under certain circumstances, eg. if you lose the capacity to make decisions or you cannot be physically present to sign a contract); and/or, an Advanced Health Directive (what happens if in certain health related situations, such as being placed on life support). We can also assist with these types of documents.
Losing a loved one can be one of the toughest things you may endure in life. Equally tough is the amount of paperwork that can be involved with looking after all the property, bank accounts, superannuation and various other things that a person may leave behind after their passing.
